Purpose:
The study of those people with German ancestry (most often of the Lutheran, Baptist, or Moravian Brethren faiths) who lived in present-day Poland and northwestern Ukraine.

Membership Benefits:
Members get access to the member-only areas of the website. This includes genealogy and records databases, custom maps and indexes. SGGEE also has built custom search tools for our databases. A Journal is published in digital form four times per year. Membership is not required to subscribe to either the FB group or the mail list.
 
Events:
SGGEE holds an annual convention. Otherwise, our society is entirely virtual.
 
Research (or Focus) Areas:
Present-day Poland and northwestern Ukraine. Special emphasis on the pre-WW I province of Volhynia and on the pre-WW I region of central and eastern modern Poland known as Russian Poland or Congress Poland. Peripheral studies include the Kiev and Podolia provinces in Ukraine, and the regions of West and East Prussia, Posen, Silesia, and Pomerania as well as Galicia when under Austrian rule.

We have numerous members with years of experience in the areas we cover. We freely share information via our public forums. If you want more personal help, you can ask for recommendations for members who provide assistance for a fee.
 
Publications:
Quarterly Journal provided in digital format to members; archives available in members-only area of the website.
